In the summer of 2010, Rob Gardner completed composing his sacred musical masterpiece, Lamb of God.

Upon completion, he headed to London to record the work with the world-renowned London Symphony Orchestra.

In 2011, a Utah group founded the first Witness Music organization headed by choir and orchestra conductor, Garin Hess, for the purpose of performing Rob Gardner’s “Lamb of God” annually each spring in Northern Utah. It’s influence included performers and audiences of all denominations who traveled from great distances to be a part of this deeply inspiring oration and musical composition that literally changes lives.

A New Chapter Begins

In the Spring of 2014, Ryan Metheny was in the audience of a performance of Rob Gardner’s Lamb of God, and the impact this amazing music and message had on him was life-changing. As he listened to the story of the last days in the life of Jesus Christ – one he had heard many times in his life in other settings – he was brought to tears, overwhelmed by the hope and love he felt in a way he previously had not experienced.

Months later, as he was working his way through a series of personal challenges, he realized that he needed to find a way to participate in Lamb of God and to make it an even greater part of his life. He located a group that was preparing to perform this music in Utah, and for 8 weeks in a row he traveled back and forth each Sunday afternoon and Monday morning to practice and perform with the group. This up-close-and-personal experience with the music made it clear to him that he needed to do everything in his power to bring Lamb of God to more people, especially in his own community in Southern California, to share this wondrous message that is so needed in our world today, creating Witness Music Thousand Oaks.

Today the membership of our orchestra and choir have increased, with participants coming from all over California. Now performing in various venues in Southern California, the organization has adopted the new title as Witness Music CaliforniaWitness Music California welcomes all to participate in the choir performances allowing Witness Music California to perform in larger venues, making it possible to share this unique and sacred production with more people seeking to hear the message of joy each Spring, during the Easter holiday season.
